Friday evening we kick off the celbration with a dinner and show at the Plimouth Plantation, Saturday is the full conference with workshops, luncheon, vendor expo, Reflections Awards and dinner. 4th Annual Film Shorts Contest - Gettin' Real on Reel!

The 84 Movement* is excited to announce the 4th annual 2010 Film Shorts Contest – Gettin’ Real on Reel!
*The 84 Movement builds the power of youth across Massachusetts to create healthier, more equitable, tobacco-free communities.

We invite Massachusetts youth to enter their original 30 second film shorts speaking out against Big Tobacco. This is an opportunity for them to share their creativity and energy with others around the State. Teams and individuals who produce the winning film shorts will win cash prizes and be part of an awards ceremony in the spring!

This year there are 3 categories to enter!

- Support a Quitter, Start a Revolution.: Show how you support friends and loves ones to quit smoking.
- Not So Glamorous: Deglamorize and tell the truth about Big Tobacco’s alluring marketing tactics.
- Tobacco Does That?!: Show the effects that tobacco has on your mind, body, wallet, relationships, and more…


Entry Due Date: Upload your entry to www.the84.org/filmshorts2010 by February 26th, 2010

GBH Radio announces 10-part series on special education in Massachusetts
Beginning Monday, January 11, reports air weekdays at 7:35am on 89.7 WGBH, Boston's NPR Station for News and Culture and WCAI 90.1, 91.1 and 94.3 for the Cape and Islands

WGBH Radio announced today a 10-part special report Educating Everyone: The Struggles and Costs of Special Education in Massachusetts, airing weekdays beginning Monday, January 11 at 7:35am on 89.7 WGBH, Boston's NPR Station for News and Culture, and WCAI 90.1, 91.1 and 94.3 for the Cape and Islands. A complete archive of each report will be available online at www.wgbh.org/897.

Educating Everyone examines the challenges presented in educating special-needs children, following 10 different families in 10 different communities in Massachusetts as they tell their unique stories.

Save the Date! MA PTA 100th Anniversary

Join us in celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the MA State PTA on Friday, April 9 - 11, 2010. Included in this years program are not only the wonderful Workshops that you are used to but some really exciting events as well. We will be hosting a dinner on Friday evening at the Plimoth Plantation with period entertainment. On Saturday the majority of the conference will be held at the Jungleplex where you will be amazed by the Vendor Expo floor, Reflections Award Ceremony, and Workshops. Saturday evening will feature Loretta LaRoche, internationally renowned humorist and author, at Memorial Hall for adults and a children's show featuring Brett "Ooch" Outchcunis - with his amazing YoYos. Don't Miss This Great Celebration!
