The “Safe Chemicals Act of 2010”, introduced by Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Congressmen Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Bobby Rush (D-IL), will overhaul federal regulation of the chemical industry for the first time in 34 years.
Massachusetts legislation that would replace toxic chemicals in everyday products with safer alternatives had a successful hearing this spring and awaits action in the Environment Committee currently.

Ellen M. Chambershas joined the firm of Margolis & Bloom, LLP, as a Special Education Advocate. Ellen received her B.A. degree in English from Lowell University, and graduated with honors from Bentley College's M.B.A. program. Her career as a Special Education Advocate spans thirteen years and has included work with Boston's Disability Law Center, the Arc, and the neuropsychological testing firm Psychological Testing Consultants of Fitchburg. Ellen is also the founder of the nonprofit special education watchdog group, SPEDWatch, which works to address systemic obstacles that deny schoolchildren their special education rights.

National Healthy Schools Day is an important day for everyone to celebrate and promote healthy and green school environments for all children through the use of US Environmental Protection Agency’s Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Tools for Schools (TfS) Program.
Celebrated on Monday, April 26, 2010, National Healthy Schools Day is coordinated by Healthy Schools Network in collaboration with US EPA and the Council of Educational Facility Planners – International (CEFPI). It is the first day of School Building Week. The 2010 campaign will focus on using certified green cleaning products which help reduce pollutants from indoor air.
