Fire Up Your Feet

alt

National PTA is partnering with Safe Routes to School National Partnership and Kaiser Permanente on Fire Up Your Feet, a new physical activity program that encourages families to walk more to and from school—and in daily life—while keeping track of their steps, and raising money for their PTA or school.

As Family Engagement Partner, National PTA believes that Fire Up Your Feet provides a great new opportunity for families to get active and spend more quality time together, all while helping out their PTAs and schools. Schools and PTAs in ten regions will also be provided with nearly $70,000 worth of awards to boost opportunities for physical activity. Enter your zip code when visiting FireUpYourFeet.org to see if this is available in your region.

Support Sandy Hook PTA

alt& Share School Safety Resources

In the aftermath of the horrific tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School, children will look to us to help them make sense of what happened. They may ask us difficult questions, ones which we may not be prepared to answer. This PTA Radio show will address some of those questions and help parents reassure our children that they are safe in school.

Welcome Students to a Winter Wonderland
When school resumes for Sandy Hook, it will be in a new building. Parent-volunteers are working to ensure that the students are welcomed back by a winter wonderland with the entire school decorated with as many unique snowflakes as possible. We encourage senders to be as creative as possible, remembering that no two snowflakes are alike. Please make and send snowflakes by January 12, 2013 to the Connecticut PTSA address at the bottom of this page.

Donating and Organizing Fundraisers for Sandy Hook Elementary School
Donations will be accepted indefinitely to the Connecticut PTSA “Sandy Hook Fund” to provide ongoing support to the community. Please send checks to the Connecticut PTSA address listed at the bottom of this page. Group fundraising projects may include walk-a-thons, spirits days, pajama days, etc., which may be scheduled at your convenience.

For student-run coin drives, please submit all donations by February 14, 2013.
